Holidays in the Loiret

In July my boyfriend an I spent a week in France. It was a short holiday, during which we did a lot, but also found it very easy to relax and let go.

Our holiday started with a visit to Paris. We had booked a camping in Versailles because we thought we would visit just the palace, and not Paris City. But once arrived at the camping, it turned out that Paris Centre was only 20 minutes by subway. So after setting up camp we decided to head for the Tour Eiffel!
And it was worth it. We left the subway practically under the Eiffel Tower and subsequently marched to the Arc de Triomphe and over the Champs Elysees. At the Arc a memorial ceremony was taking place. The military was paying respects and laying flowers at the monument, from which a huge French Flag slowly drifted in the wind. A beautiful sight.
Also all of the Champs Elysees was decorated with flags and flowers, and unfortunately littered with iron fences. This because of the recent 24th of July festivities and because of the Tour de France which would finish in Paris one week later.

After some windows shopping we had walked so much we were growing hungry and tired. So after eating in a little bistro we headed back for the camping. A great first day in France..
